Sainsbury’s have announced they will launch a “meat-free butchers” in east London this month. The retailers have said they are getting behind Meat-Free Week from June 21st by encouraging the public to sample more plant-based products by opening a meat-free butcher’s shop. When we say sample, we do mean sample! Customers will be given the opportunity to sample for free many of the meat-free products Sainsbury’s now stock, as well as having the best opportunity to fill up their fridges with cruelty free plant-based meats.
The pop-up butchers shop will also feature an “in-store butcher” who is specifically trained in plant-based cooking. The plant-based butcher will Read More
Life in a Lab
Bonnie was a beautiful Beagle who spent most of her life being tested on in a UK lab in England. She was eventually rescued by Christine and her family – and this is Christine’s account which she so kindly shared with us to allow people to gain a slight understanding about these poor dogs. We would like to say a massive thank you to Christine for sharing her story with us and we
would like to dedicate this blog to Bonnie and all her fellow beagles and animals who are needlessly tested on in labs around the UK and Read More
It is a meditation and a contemplation that can help create an intimate conversation with our beautiful planet.
Above all, it is a practice of looking deeply.

Dear Mother Earth,
I bow my head before you as I look deeply and recognise that you are present in me and that I’m a part of you. I was born from you and you are Read More
No Matter What We Do, We Can Always Make A Difference
This blog has been on the cards for quite a long time, but, life is what it is, and it dictated to me that this would must be completed with patience; I have simply not had the time to think about blogs far less write one – I have just been catching snippets of time here and there to write a few lines at a time!
With it being on the back-burner it was a strong coincidence that I had planned to publish it last week on the very day I woke up to find out Virgin Trains UK was Read More

My first steps into a plant-based diet in April 2018 were not your typical ones. It was a dark time; darker than many could imagine. Having separated from my wife only two days after my mother died in December 2017, my world had been ripped apart. I was unable to function as a normal human being. An attempt at some sort of reconciliation in the New Year eventually resulted in my moving out for good at the end of March 2018. Feeling completely destroyed and isolated can sometimes result in the odd spell of random motivation to do something completely different. You can either curl Read More
In 2009 in Piedmont Italy, Fedy set up “La Piccola Fattoria degli Animali” (The Little Animal Farm) https://www.facebook.com/PigWhisperer/
This would be a place devoted to pigs saved from slaughterhouses and factory farms, but which would also give hospitality to dogs and cats that have been ill-treated or abandoned.
We caught up with Fedy and asked her some questions.
Can you tell us where the idea came from and how you managed to bring it about?
Let me start by telling you a little story that will surprise you. Last year, three days before my birthday, my mother told me that I was supposed to be born on November 11. Everybody was Read More
